FEAST DAY

Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God

Thursday 1st January ~ 10 am Mass

All Saints Church

The peace of prayer

Step out of life for a moment,

Out of the shout and the glare,

Into that silent sanctuary

Into the peace of prayer.

Turn your back on the tumult,

Let the world’s din slow down,

Forget the crowds and laughter,

Forget life’s ugly frown.

Stand in that still white hush,

That is flooded with light and peace,

Where the soul can seek refreshment

And the body get release.

Tell Him the things that hound you,

Tell Him the things you fear,

Speak to Him of your troubles

For in prayer He is very near.

Tell Him the fight you’re having

To keep your life set square,

Tell Him the things that mean so much

That you feel you cannot bear.

Tell Him you’re frightened of what’s ahead,

That you wish you knew the end,

Tell Him those things – for He alone

Will help you as a friend.
