Midweek Mass Watch
Once again, there are big changes this week due to the funeral Masses and Confirmation. No Mass at All Saints on Tuesday or Thursday. Thankfully Fr Joseph is to return at the end of the week meaning we won’t have to have so many changes in future weeks.

SVP Retiring Collection today for local needs.

“WALKING HUMBLY”. Yesterday Bishop Peter gathered his clergy and members of all the Pastoral Area Councils with an update of his “Walking Humbly” programme. Also, our own Council met in Winslow on Monday; we discussed items from the Bishop including the declining reverent behaviour in church, pastoral care of visitors during the Olympics, standardising the age for Confirmation (possibly prior to First Holy Communion age). More details later.

STATEMENT FROM THE BISHOPS on the government’s proposal to redefine “marriage”. Copies available today from the back of church.

CONFIRMATION MASS 7.30 pm Thursday at All Saints. We welcome Bishop Peter Doyle as he comes to Confirm 45 of our young people. Congratulations to them.

MAY THEY REST IN PEACE
Peter Werboweckyj
, aged 51, late of Newport Pagnell, formerly of Osborne Street, Bletchley. Peter was a well known figure in our parish, notably for playing organ and piano at big parish functions such as Midnight Mass and the Parish pantomines. His Requiem Mass is on Tuesday, 11 am at St Thomas Aquinas, hence no 10 am Mass that day.
Bruno Timoni, aged 64, late of Hunter Drive. Bruno is the husband of Sue, one of the dinner ladies at Bishop Parker School. His Requiem Mass is on Thursday, 3 pm at St Thomas Aquinas, hence no 10 am Mass that day.

BROWNIES. Welcome to Tanya, who is the new leader of our Parish Brownies Unit, Sixth Bletchley. Tanya tells me there are vacancies for young girls, aged 7 to 10 who want to be Brownies. They meet every Monday 6 -7.30 pm at St Thomas School Hall for all sorts of fun activities. Interested? Please ring Tanya on 01908 648348 or TanyaTreviss@aol.com
Our thanks to Jackie Hamlyn for her years of work in charge of the Brownies.

CAFOD QUIZ NITE. Roll up for a fun quiz on Friday 16th March ~ 7.30 pm at MK Irish Centre.
All parish groups are encouraged to enter a team for £5. So far we have teams from the Music Group, Phoenix Youth Group, the Parish Team, the Catenians, the over-50’s, the Legion of Mary and the Knights of St Columba. It would be great fun if all the parish organisations fielded a team. If you are an individual, don’t worry, we will put you in a team on the night. All welcome. A bit of fun for a good cause. Tel. Maggie Osgathorpe on 01908 502062.

ALMSGIVING IN LENT. Don’t forget that our good old government have pledged to double any donation given to CAFOD – for this Lent only. We are delighted that last Friday’s Lenten lunch raised £152., plus a good social event for the 34 people who came. Last week’s Second Collection banked a colossal £1,888.0lp, which is fantastic. Future events include a second Lenten lunch on Friday, 30th March, after 11.30 am Mass, this time at St Thomas Aquinas Church. Also, the Quiz Nite on Friday, 16th March, 7.30 pm at MK Irish Centre {see above}.
Thank You for your support which will help to bring clean water to those in the Third World who do not currently have that “luxury”.

PHOENIX YOUTH GROUP meets on Tuesday 7 – 9 pm.

SINEAD CALLAGHAN, aged 17, a member of Phoenix Youth Group invites all young parishioners, aged 12-18, to an evening she has organised called “Oh My God”. Includes games, activities, reflection and meditation for Lent. Come along! Thursday 29th March 6.45 – 9 pm at All Saints Church.
